In search of a Stabilization and Caretaker Specialist in the Claremont, NH area. This is a full time, per diem position with a starting wage of $23-$25/hour based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively uses person-centered de-escalation techniques while developing and maintaining a positive relationship with people experiencing acute behavioral and/or mental health episodes
  • Flexible to provide supports in a variety of settings, to include, but not limited to the Balance House, hotel, community and persons house
  • Collaborates with Service Coordinators, Nurses, guardians, family, relevant members of the DS Management Team and other applicable service providers in order to be informed of and trained in the persons treatment needs and share progress updates with team members
  • Implements the persons treatment plan and supporting plans, ie. Behavior Support Plan, Special Care Procedure, Safety Plan, etc. This includes consistent, accurate data collection
  • Attends and participates in intra- and inter-agency meetings regarding persons accessing the crisis/crisis prevention supports
  • As necessary, uses Therapeutic Options (TO) physical safety skills when someone is displaying assaultive or other dangerous behaviors
  • Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of person-centered services
  • As needed, provides transportation to and from community events/appointments at the hours of expected events, including, but not limited to, medical appointments

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant area preferred; or a High School diploma plus at least one year of experience in human services
  • Basic understanding of philosophy of normalization, crisis supports, trauma-informed and person centered care
  • Dedication to working with people through challenging times
  • Demonstrable respect for people with developmental disabilities and mental health concerns, their family members and caring others
  • Understanding the world-view of those served
  • Exhibiting pride as a company ambassador through appropriate behaviors in actions and words; is punctual, dependable and reliable; learns and performs all functions of the job and performs to the highest ability
  • Taking care of oneself and staying calm, patient and self-confident amidst numerous potentially stressful situations, while maintaining a sense of humor whenever appropriate
  • Demonstrating the ability to learn new skills and apply them accurately and appropriately across a variety of settings/situations

Hours: Per Diem shift with 24 hour need and hourly shifts around the clock
