Immediately seeking a Bookkeeper in the Keene, NH area. This is a part time first shift position offering flexible work hours.
Responsibilities:
- Records weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees
- Maintains accurate attendance tracking for accrued, taken and remaining balances of vacation, personal and sick time
- Maintains accurate record of financial transactions
- Updates and maintains the general ledger
- Reconciles entries into the accounting system
- Performs account reconciliation to assure the accuracy of transactions
- Responds to requests and queries from the President
- Works with accountant for preparation and filing of year-end tax returns and ongoing overview of financial inquiries
- Maintains financial records according to records retention regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned by the President
Requirements:
- Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of best practices
- Strong math skills
- Data entry skills
- High attention to detail with strong organization skills
- Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving
- Minimum of 2 years in basic bookkeeping and daily/monthly accounting tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Word
- Experience with PeachTree/Sage Accounting Software
- Working knowledge of office equipment such as fax machines, printers, and copiers
